Swiss Gardens

Last summer we went to the Swiss Gardens, it was a glorious day, and we took a couple of deckchairs with us and not really sure what to expect.

The Swiss Gardens are part of the Shuttleworth Collection, and there are separate fees to see each of them, and from Ampthill it is less than 30 minutes to get there.  It is a nice drive via the back roads, and Old Warden village itself is very attractive.

The gardens have recently been refurbished, and now it is looking super smart and very neat and tidy.  There are good footpaths around the majority of it, and it takes you on a nice circular walk. The garden has lots of water, quite a few 'follies', bridges and statuary, making each turn of the corner interesting.

There is also an app that you can download, and you can have a walking tour of the gardens.

Once we had finished in the gardens we had lunch in the restaurant, and sat outside.  Then we walked back to the car and we had parked it near to the airfield, so we got out our deckchairs and drinks and sat there for an hour or so watching the planes land and take off, it was a very pleasant afternoon.
